Product Manager

An opportunity has arisen for a Product Manager to join our Product & Marketing Team based in Leeds. You will support the delivery of the Home Product Strategy through the development and implementation of new products along with the maintenance of existing products. This is an exciting opportunity as this position will be instrumental in the development of changes to our market leading Products and Brands and will have a real impact on both our new Product offerings and the maintenance of existing insurance products for LBG customers and colleagues.

Accountabilities

• Deliver new products and product enhancements which contribute to the overall product strategy. Ensure change is effectively project managed, underpinned by robust business cases and grounded in solid consumer insight
• ‘Own’ the product range ensuring that its technical content is reflected accurately at all times, e.g. documentation and literature sign off and development
• Collate and analyse Management Information reports from various sources around the business
• Keep up to date with market & regulatory developments by utilising existing research capabilities and developing new ones
• Analyse competitor products, market opportunities and developments to ensure that LBG GI products reflect the needs of its customers
• Develop a strong understanding of LBG’s Home product portfolio and customer journey processes
• Work closely with key internal and external stakeholders to gain their support for new product developments and/or product enhancements,
• Develop close working relationships with other Group product development teams to maximise working efficiencies and ensure consistency of approach
• Prepare business plans to deliver required performance outcomes, utilising all available resources and considering the impact on all stakeholders. Plans to include product specifications, regulatory framework, communication plans, cost/benefit analyses and financial implications

Key Capabilities

• Excellent commercial awareness and business acumen with a full understanding of the Financial Services Market and the general insurance value chain
• Detailed technical general insurance product knowledge with an in depth knowledge of policy wordings, question sets and product limits and excesses
• Strong interpersonal skills including communication, negotiation and influencing at all levels
• Ability to develop mutually beneficial business relationships with key stakeholders
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Well developed project management skills
• Well-developed analytical skills; experience of interpreting management & market information, knowledge of budget setting, control & planning.
• Excellent understanding of the risk and governance framework, the FSA Treating Customer Fairly (TCF) outcomes and how to apply them to real life scenarios
