GI Product Assistant - Creditor

An opportunity has arisen for a Product Assistant to join our Product & Marketing Team based in Leeds. You will be instrumental in supporting the delivery of the LBG insurance product strategy driving value for the business and its customers. Working within the creditor team you will specialise within project based and regulatory work within a team of 5 people.

Accountabilities

• Understand priority projects within LBGI & focus resources accordingly in order to design, develop and implement effective and profitable solutions that support the strategic direction of the business.
• Proactively work across LBGI, developing close working relationships to initiate, manage and co-ordinate projects - working with each area to ensure knowledge share and buy in is achieved throughout the development process.
• To influence and contribute to future product & market strategies by analysis of competitor products, market opportunities and developments to ensure that LBG general insurance products reflect the needs of its customers.
• Identify and make recommendations to increase sales, retention or profitability of customers by implementing new or improved products.
• Develop robust business cases to underpin change initiatives, utilising all available resources and considering the impact on all stakeholders. Cases to include product specifications, communication plans, cost/benefit analyses and financial implications.
• To build strong working relationships with key customers within & external to the wider LBG, keeping up-to-date on market developments by utilising existing research capabilities and employing new ones.
• Act as a ‘broker’ of general insurance solutions for other areas of the Group, pro-actively seeking opportunities to widen the distribution of GI products.
• Keep abreast of regulatory issues affecting the Creditor insurance market.

Key Capabilities

• Strong commercial awareness, understanding of key profitability measures.
• Good business acumen with a full understanding of the Financial Services Market and general insurance.
• Strong technical general insurance product knowledge.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with proven ability to influence and negotiate at senior levels.
• Strong planning, organisation and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and work to deadlines. Well developed Project Management disciplines.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret management and market information with the capability to develop business models.
• Attention to detail, thoroughness and accuracy, ability to analyse and understand key market trends via secondary/desk research.
• Ability to brief and work effectively with third parties, experience of developing robust business cases.
